Folklorist, Writer, Curator
Carrie Hertz is Curator of Textiles and Dress at the Museum of International Folk Art. She earned her PhD in Folklore and MA in arts administration from Indiana University. With nearly 20 years of experience in museums, her work explores the social, cultural, aesthetic, ethical, and political dimensions of dress and adornment. Her most recent project is Dressing with Purpose: Belonging and Resistance in Scandinavia, an exhibition and publication from Indiana University Press released in December 2021.
